Since 2012, I've used this space to post creative experiments using the inspiration and insight gained from daily life and, at times, escape from daily life. Enjoy.

Glass Ceiling
9/8/14
11x15 collage on paper
Walking under the glass the entryway at work today (first day back from a week away) and noticed a hummingbird trapped under the glass portico...Trying for all it had to fly up through the glass, and not making any progress. My heart hurt for the little bird and I thought, if only he'd take a dip down and under the lip of the overhang instead of up into the glass, he'd be free. Couldn't help wondering what message hummingbird was carrying for me as I watched its plight?
Even the seemingly tireless need to watch their energy stores and resources to be able to enjoy freedom?
An invitation to flex my path as I fly light and strong, and move quickly to align to my true life purpose?
Where is my joy and lightness as I walk into this building today?
Luckily, he was gone when I left for the day, so I'll assume he delivered his message to me and went on his merry way.

Day 27 Dreamy intuition

10/27/12
Inspiration
exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal: Use a recent dream as inspiration for what you do today.

Hay affirmation:
“I recognize my own intuitive ability.” (nose)
| Day 27 Dreamy intuition |
Media: Magazine photos, glue stick, glitter glue.
Time: 50M
Comments:
When I was a kid, I had recurring dreams
of being able to fly that are referenced here through the bird elements. I like how
this collage conveys a dark, and watery dream state using seemingly unrelated
and mysterious imagery... a lot like dreams themselves.
