Day 39 Pill junkie

039:365
Day 39 Pill junkie
11/08/12

Louise Hay affirmation:   “I am safe.
It is safe to feel.  My feelings are normal and acceptable.” (excessive appetite)

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Write a haiku about something that happens to you today or is in the news today.  Illustrate it.

Media:  Magazine + web photos, matte medium.

Time:   1H

Comments:  Had a doctor's appointment today and got a dose of modern medicine.  It's as if he couldn't wait for it to happen.  Compromised health brought on by the standard American junk food diet and treated with a hand full of pills when the inevitable happens.  Dangerous game.
When I protested the treatment plan, he excused himself and left it to the assistant to handle.

Day 22 Bridging the open space

022:365
10/22/12

Louise Hay affirmation:   “I choose to live through the open space in my heart.  I look for love and find it everywhere.” (liver problems)

Day 22 Bridging the open space
Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:  Create a bridge.  Connect two things in a creative way.  Small enough for an amoeba or big enough for an elephant to cross.

Media:  Magazine photos, vellum, glue stick, Sharpie

Time:   2H

Comments:   The heart is a bridge between mysterious and chaotic night in contemporary urban life, and the mystery of faeries playing in daylight gardens.   The open space that allows us to span the gaps between the two lies within.

Day 21 Texas treehugger

Day 21 Texas treehugger
021:365
10/21/12

Louise Hay affirmation:   “Love and peace and joy are what I know.” (liver)

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:  Write a ten-word love story.  Bonus: Illustrate it!

Media:  Map of Texas, magazine photos, matte medium

Time:   1H:40M

Comments:  This collage is as much a reminder as an acknowledgement of place.  The neighborhood where we live has many oak trees and is a huge part of why we chose the house we're in.  The beauty and peacefulness of nature in the neighborhood is an oasis within the larger metropolitan area.  The challenge is to stay aware of it.

The liver is said to be the seat of anger and resentment.
I wonder if, every time I experienced anger and resentment (not uncommon for me) I hugged a tree and reminded myself to feel love and peace and joy, what would be the outcome physically, mentally, and emotionally?

I used some leaves that are starting to fall in my back yard as templates for the leaves here.
