Day 219 Silent partners

Day 219 Silent partners
219:365
05/07/13

Louise Hay affirmation:   “I choose prosperity thoughts; therefore, I am prosperous.

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Create a mosaic using cut paper.

Media:  Photo reproductions of Randel Plowman's collage work, Fabric pattern, Ribbon, Glitter dot, Watercolor pencil, Mod Podge, Bird stencil, Brooch

Time:  1H:10M

Comments:  Had the chance to meet an old friend today that I hadn't seen in a couple of years.  As we caught up on our lives since we last spoke, I realized that I still have much work to do on the rewiring process in my thinking.  As I was listening to myself telling about work and life, I couldn't help noting that I have a "tone" that shrouds my prosperity thoughts.

Day 219 of this collage project and, thankfully, I still have 146 more days to soak my brain and heart in positive affirmations from Louise Hay, and creative technique inspirations from Noah Scalin.  The background of today's paper mosaic is, once again, inspired by the collage work of Randel Plowman with a few layering tips from the collage class that I took at A Creative Arts Studio in Denton.  Many thanks to my silent partners in this process of becoming the positive and prosperous person I was destined to be.

Would welcome feedback if anyone viewing this post also finds old speaking habits hard to break?

Day 141 Birds of gratitude

Day 141 Birds of gratitude

141:365
02/18/13

Louise Hay daily affirmation:   “I think differently.  I speak differently.  I act differently.  Others treat me differently.”

Inspiration exercise from Noah Scalin’s 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Make a paper pop-up.

Media:  Scrapbook paper; Magazine photos; Poetry book pages:  Chickadee by Hilda Conckling and Down in the Hollow by Aileen Fisher; Graph paper; Mod Podge; Fabric pattern tissue

Time:   1H:30M

Comments:  The theme of this collage with its pop-up birds is an homage to Randel Plowman's work.   I recently ordered one of his 2013 collage  calendars and received an unexpected level of good customer service upon delivery of my order.  With much gratitude  and appreciation.

Day 95 Plowman style

095:365
Day 95 Plowman style
01/03/13

Louise Hay affirmation:   “I trust God, knowing that whatever I need to know is revealed to me, and that whatever I need comes to me in the right time, space, and sequence.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Ask a stranger for a suggestion of what to do today.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photos, Notebook paper, Graph paper, Fabric patterns, Paint manufacturer's poster, Mod Podge, Watercolor pencils

Time:   2H

Comments:  The Collage Workbook was recommended to me a while back.  Thought I'd pay homage to the style of its author in this collage. (In fact, the two Mona Lisa reproductions near the center are his.)  Found myself receiving all kinds of "suggestions of what to do today" by a talented artist who's been at it longer than I, and possesses a great deal of sophistication and skill in his work.  I hope at some point to have a hint of creativity and 'eye' that he demonstrates.
