Day 216 Nature takes time

Day 216 Nature takes time

Louise Hay affirmation:   “I have plenty of time.

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:  Create an image using any light source in your home.

Media:  Magazine photos, Mod Podge

Time:  1H:10M

Comments:  Designed to appeal to younger patients, the shadow puppet image of a squirrel on the right side of this collage is a play of light on a wall at a children's hospital.  It also reminds me of my encounters with 'wildlife' today.  Squirrels on the back porch and cats in a neighbor's yard, staring at our human/dog caravan as we walked in the neighborhood after dinner.

This collage also studies wood grains and visual textures.  I liked the silhouettes of human faces on the left side where the clock face sits.   We spend so much of our time worried about time.  It's good to be reminded that interesting design takes time, quality crafted furniture takes time, Nature takes time to grow trees to make beautiful woods, and to bloom sunflowers.  I have plenty of time.

Day 179 Seeds of understanding

Louise Hay affirmation:
“I love and approve of myself.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:
Use seeds to make something.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photos, Mod Podge

Time:  1H

Comments:  Walnuts are great seeds.  They are the start of a walnut tree that makes beautiful hardwoods for furniture.  They are a healthy nut for people to eat.  Their shells can be use in cosmetics to make exfoliants for the skin.  They can be used for classic shell game to challenge the eye and mind.  And, like the mind itself, they are 'a hard nut to crack'.

Love the flexibility and versatility of the walnut, just like I love and approve of myself when I also show flexibility and versatility.
