Day 338 Time and contentment

Day 338 Time and contentment
338:365
09/03/13

Louise Hay affirmation:   “Today I am content to be me.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Make something that shows the passage of time.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photo, Yoga Puppies calendar photo (lotus pose), Mod Podge

Time:  45M

Comments:  Today's collage has me thinking about the passage of time... and contentment.  I like the idea of a yoga puppy sitting in lotus pose as she ponders a lamp carved to look old, and meditates on time and contentment too.

Day 264 Comfy chairs

Day 264 Comfy chairs
264:365
06/21/13

Louise Hay affirmation:   “I trust my inner wisdom.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Work only with Legos or other building blocks today.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photos, Tissue paper, Mod Podge

Time:  45M

Comments:  The building blocks I used for today's collage are made of brick in the form of a lounge chair and large concrete blocks in the form of a mind-crushing attempts to sit at a desk and read or work.  Some days I feel like this...
I've been experiencing it this week in particular in the form of mind-crushing conversations about comfort of the furniture at work.

I trust my inner wisdom to remember that on top of the heavy weights of discontent (that I'm not able to fix for some of my coworkers/clients), there may be a yoga-posing Santa reading or working in a much more flexible and imaginative position.  No furniture required at all.

The dog is looking on to remind us all that tomorrow's Friday!

Day 232 Calming the tornado

Day 232 Calming the tornado

232:365
05/20/13

Louise Hay affirmation:
“I find relaxation, enjoyment, and healing in the simplest things in life.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Make a cloud, or make something inspired by clouds.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine and Catalog photos, printed Google image, Mod Podge

Time:  1H:20M

Comments:  It seems like the goal of Meditation is to quiet the mind (the tornado) long enough to allow Divine Spirit a chance to be with us or speak to us.

Today's collage is an homage to an interesting Meditation experience I had over the weekend.   Meditation is something I've attempted at various times, never consistently, and has proven to be a tricky for me to achieve true quieting of my mind.

The images of the person and the bulldog are a nod to 'feet up the wall' pose in yoga, which is quite relaxing.  And to every dog whose found great relaxation, enjoyment, and healing in the simple act of rolling over on his/her back to  take in life from another viewpoint.

Addendum: After I made this collage today, I learned that a tornado swept through Oklahoma and it appears to have created a devastating loss of life and property.  Sad and eerie coincidence for today's storm cloud theme.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photo, Postcard, Printed cellophane, Paper Bag Mod Podge

Time:  1H:20M

Comments:  Today's collage is a celebration of breath during the practice of yoga.
