Day 244 Framed love
244:365
06/01/13

Louise Hay affirmation:   “Every day it gets easier to look into my own eyes in the mirror and say, “I love you just the way you are.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:  Make or buy a frame and use it to showcase something that already exists so people can see it in a new way.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine catalog photos, Calendar page, Mirror, Zots, Mod Podge

Time: 1H

Comments:  Today's collage features framed dog portraits, including my own dog's eyes reflected back in the mirror on the left side.  And Jane Oriel's shaggy pooch painting on the right.

Day 232 Calming the tornado

Day 232 Calming the tornado

232:365
05/20/13

Louise Hay affirmation:
I find relaxation, enjoyment, and healing in the simplest things in life.

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Make a cloud, or make something inspired by clouds.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine and Catalog photos, printed Google image, Mod Podge

Time:  1H:20M

Comments:  It seems like the goal of Meditation is to quiet the mind (the tornado) long enough to allow Divine Spirit a chance to be with us or speak to us.

Today's collage is an homage to an interesting Meditation experience I had over the weekend.   Meditation is something I've attempted at various times, never consistently, and has proven to be a tricky for me to achieve true quieting of my mind.

The images of the person and the bulldog are a nod to 'feet up the wall' pose in yoga, which is quite relaxing.  And to every dog whose found great relaxation, enjoyment, and healing in the simple act of rolling over on his/her back to  take in life from another viewpoint.

Addendum: After I made this collage today, I learned that a tornado swept through Oklahoma and it appears to have created a devastating loss of life and property.  Sad and eerie coincidence for today's storm cloud theme.

Day 231 Birthday Avenger

Day 231 Birthday Avenger

05/19/13

Louise Hay affirmation:   “My future is glorious.

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Create a new superhero.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photos, Birthday cards, Envelope, Mod Podge

Time:  1H

Comments:  Today's collage features a bulldog superhero who swoops in on birthdays and conquers one's old self.  A new self is then released to live on until next year's birthday when he/she will undoubtedly be needed to save the day again.  My future is glorious.

Day 186 Self-assured

186:365
Day 186 Self-assured
04/04/13

Louise Hay affirmation:
“I can speak for myself.
I express myself freely.  I am creative.  I speak with love.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:
Make something quiet today.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photos, Mod Podge, Dog photo from ASPCA calendar

Time:  1H:20M

Comments:  This French bulldog is quiet, alert, attentive, watchful, and assertive in its pose.  Everything about his/her posture says "I can speak for myself.  I express myself freely."  I added the burlap pillows with French wording, strawberries, and flowers to hint that he/she is also creative and speaks with love.

Day 165 Dressed for success

Day 165 Dressed for success

Louise Hay affirmation:
“I have within me all the ingredients for success.

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Transform a piece of furniture into something other than what it’s meant for.
Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photos, Sharpies, Glue Stick, Post-it note

Time:  1H

Comments:  Furniture as runway model while adoring fans look on...  I've been wondering if I'd ever get a chance to use that chair photo I clipped a while back from a magazine ad.  The artist that came up with it in the first place, in my opinion, has a creative spark that is definitely one of the ingredients for success.

Day 109 As dog sees me

109:365
01/17/13

Day 109 As dog sees me
Louise Hay affirmation:   “I now choose to begin to see myself as God sees me- perfect, whole, and complete .”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Play in the dirt. Go outside and create something in or with the first patch of dirt you can find.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photos, Matte medium

Time:  1H:30M

Comments:  Went outside to play in the dirt.  Found myself looking at the seed shells on the ground scattered beneath a bird feeder that seems to only attract squirrels.  Also found that my ability to play in the dirt was hampered a bit by the two dogs that followed me outside and proceeded to stand with their faces in my face, tongues and tails wagging.  I'm fairly certain they thought I was there to play with them instead.  Oh, well... we'll call it a perfect, whole, and complete backyard experience anyway.
