Totem

9x12 collage on canvas board

Totem

Today's collage features silhouettes of some interesting buzzards sitting atop tall cacti.  I love the way they look like nature's own totem poles.

Brick

4/27/14
9x12 oil on canvas board

Brick

Today's collage is actually an oil painting from a recent 'touch painting' class, taught by Tina Alvarez at A Creative Art Studio in Denton.  I liked the interplay of circles with diagonal strokes on this one.

Inner Muse
Today's collage is a study of inspiration in simple things. A panting dog, a colorful butterfly, music and light.

Taking Down Walls

11x15 collage on paper

Taking Down Walls

Today's collage was inspired by a vivid dream I had... a visit from an old friend reminding me that there are solutions to every problem.
But putting up walls may not be the most productive way to solve them.

Four

4/3/14
11x15 collage on paper

Four
After seeing the new Divergent movie recently, I found myself pondering the brooding Tobias "Four" Eaton character way too much for someone who has not been a teen in quite some time.   Thought my affirmation of the day felt apt....
"I AM spiritual in all things first, then I AM human."

While I was pondering movie character obsessions, I adapted today's collage for a friend who also went through a similar Wolverine crush a while back.  So glad to know I'm not the only human.

Mood Board

4/1/14
20x30 mixed materials on foam board

Mood Board

Today's collage takes me back to my design school roots.  It's been a while since I've made a finish board.  Working on a furniture proposal for my job and trying to find a way to communicate a mood that's not just a standard office setting.
