Like I Want to be Treated

Like I Want to be Treated
Today's collage is a reminder to myself that I can choose to treat others differently than my first reaction sometimes tells me to act. Needed that reminder today as I tried to revive landscape plantings around the house that have suffered from neglect over the winter. Easy to forget that both plants and people need loving attention and water to thrive.

Counting Sheep

Counting Sheep
Had a late night airport run to make, and am lacking sleep for the day after.  Today's collage is a remembrance that counting sheep may help if I have trouble sleeping tonight. Somehow I don't think it will be necessary.

Gel Printmaking 101
Had a great introduction to Gel Printmaking today at A Creative Arts Studio in Denton, Texas. Thanks to instructor, Crystal Nelson, and studio owner, Robin, for making the day fun and memorable.  Im excited to see how I'll be able to use these new handmade papers in future collage projects.

Energies of the first day of Spring

Energies of the first day of Spring

The first day of Spring seems like it should be all about happy flowers and sunshine.  Have to say that, this year, the energies leading up to this change of seasons are unexpectedly edgy.  I've been a little out of sorts all week.

Though I do love the trees starting to bud and Nature starting to wake up from Winter, it makes me wonder what's happening in energetic realms.

Insomni-Cat

Today's collage shares a look at what green-eyed cat's think about when they get up in the middle of the night with one too many bouts of insomnia.  Funny little creatures dance through their dreams and thoughts about design projects keep them from getting back to sleep.

Home Remedy

Home Remedy

Today's collage is an acknowledgement that, some days, the best thing to recharge one's batteries is to sleep in and supplement the usual morning routine with health-promoting herbal remedies and immune-boosting essential oils.

Interconnected

Interconnected

Had a couple of positive completions on design projects at work this week.   The end result helped make the building more colorful and gave me a chance to experiment with some new ideas.

Same day my projects installed, I was leaving the house to drive to work and ran across two huge vultures snacking on a squirrel in the neighborhood.  Though vultures aren't completely unusual in our region, they are definitely not common inside my neighborhood.
Got to thinking about the symbolism of vultures.  Some say they are good symbols for the interconnectedness of all things and the constancy of change.  They reassure us that transformation is inevitable.  On some days, things go well... on others, not so much.
