Red Dragonfly III

Alight on ivy’s tendril,

glowing red messenger from God.

“It’s time, my child, it’s time.”

Don’t look on me as a chance visitor.

I’m here to deliver a message

from the soul you’ve held so tightly

in your arms and in your heart.

“It’s time, my child, it’s time.”

I’ll fly away for a moment

and let you collect your thoughts.

Then you’ll realize I’m here for a reason.

Red as cardinal gliding on late summer’s breezes.

But cardinal’s message is for another day.

I’m dragonfly, red dragonfly,

Returning to ivy’s perch and looking on with love.

Once again here to tell you,

“It’s time, dear child, it’s time.”

At the suggestion of a friend and a tool for study, thought I might work on a series of collages on the Major Arcana of the Tarot card deck.   I'll be using the traditional Rider-Waite deck as a start point, but put my own twist on things as I go.   

Today's collage is my first attempt, and represents The Fool's journey off the arm of a lovely white bench.  She looks to be taking the first steps into a new adventure (or a play date with a fellow foodie), but if she's not careful, she may drip her jug of olive oil all over.

In your light I learn how to love,

Thought I'd give linoleum block printing a try for today's collage.  Not sure I captured my basset hound, Cleo, as well as Rumi did in his poem that accompanies.
