Day 182 The halfway point

Day 182 The halfway point

182:365
03/31/13

Louise Hay affirmation:
“I love and accept myself where I am right now.
I am wonderful.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Work with your hands… literally.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photos, Mod Podge

Time:  1H:10M

Comments:   Today marks the end of 6 months and the halfway point in my year-long Collage a Day with Louise Hay project.  I've enjoyed working with my hands, mind, and creative energy to do something more than just work, watch TV, eat and sleep.

Today also happens to be Easter Sunday which is why I chose to use pastel colors and added Easter themed cupcakes to the collage.  The hand is reaching for the calendar dates, signifying work on "the project" rather than the cupcakes.

Ironically enough, I must have done that part unconsciously because I only recognized it after I completed the collage.  We'll call the reach for creativity rather than food a sign of progress in learning to love and accept myself where I am right now.

Day 180 good Friday

Louise Hay affirmation:
“I love and approve of my body.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Create something that belongs to another season of the year and put it into the environment.

Media:  Magazine photos, Glue stick

Time:  1H

Comments:  This collage, since today's exercise was to make something that belongs to another season, is a reminder about His birth instead.  A Christmas theme to celebrate Easter seems ok to me.

Good Friday is a day in Christian faith to think about the day the Hero of the story died on the Cross.  Wonder if there was much thought about loving and approving of the body during the events of the original Good Friday?

Day 161 March hares

Day 161 March hares

161:365
03/10/13

Louise Hay affirmation:   “My unique creative talents and abilities flow through me and are expressed in deeply satisfying ways.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Work with an old calendar or make something into a calendar.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine and catalog photos, Calendar page, Mod Podge, Sharpie

Time:  55M

Comments: The month of March seems to have a lot going on this year.  Daffodils blooming in my yard and Daylight Saving Time starts today.  Then Spring Break, an unexpected work trip to Michigan along with the new fence installation at home starting tomorrow.  Thursday brings a visit from friends from my college days and Friday, a benefit for the Denton Animal Shelter.

Throw in the first day of Spring, Good Friday and Easter, which will mean a visit from in-laws later in the month, and we have a busy couple of weeks left in the month.

I'm marking the plethora occasions in today's collage with a plethora of rabbits... and hopes that all these experiences will flow through me and will be expressed in deeply satisfying ways.
