Since 2012, I've used this space to post creative experiments using the inspiration and insight gained from daily life and, at times, escape from daily life. Enjoy.

Day 341 Plenty for all
09/06/13
Louise Hay affirmation: “I bless
other’s good fortune, and I know there is plenty for all.”
Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal: Make a
functioning mobile.
Media: Scrapbook paper, Magazine photos, Mod Podge
Time: 1H:30M
Comments: Was thinking today about how a lot of time what appears to be good fortune may actually be the result of hard work. The zebra featured in this collage is a reprint of an Andy Warhol painting. The space in the living room photo (that features a mobile-type ceiling light) was the result of someone's design eye and creative vision, after the workmen and trades completed construction on the building itself. Fascinating world... there is plenty for all.

Day 110 The truth about zebra print
110:365
01/18/13
Day 110 The truth about zebra print |
Louise Hay affirmation: “The truth of my Being is that I
was created perfect, whole, and complete.
I will always be perfect, whole, and complete.”
Inspiration exercise
from 365 Daily Creativity Journal: Work with mistakes.
Spill some ink, milk, or other liquid and then go from there.
Media: Scrapbook paper, Magazine and Catalog photos,
Matte medium, Griffin black ink
Time:
1H:20M
Comments: The truth about the zebra is that it looks like a science experiment gone wrong. But, at the same time, it is a great example of something so wrong that it's right at the same time. What would designers and fashionistas do without a little zebra print to liven things up? Perfect, whole, and complete.
I played with liquid ink drops along the margin. Reminded me of what chefs do with sauces on the plate next to a fancy dessert.

Day 12 Do you see what I Zee?
012:365
Louise
Hay affirmation: “I
relax and let life flow through me with ease.” (affirmation related to gas)
Inspiration
exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal: Create or alter something so that it disappears into its
background.
Time: 25M
Comments: Love the zebra camouflage wallpaper in the background photo. Makes me think of the animal print fad in design and how a little goes a long way. Not sure it relates to life flowing through me with ease. Do zebras get gas?
The chocolate wrappers are from my recent trip to the in-laws house where we played cards and ate chocolates. The almond toffee crunch flowed past my lips with ease.

Day 11 Moving forward
011:365
10/11/12
Louise
Hay affirmation: “I
move forward in life, with joy and with ease.” (affirmation for dealing with foot problems)
Inspiration
exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal: Pick a medium you’re comfortable with, then work with your
non-dominant hand.
Media: Photos and words cut out of magazines with my left hand, glue
stick, scrapbook, cream chalk
Time: 2H:40M
Comments: The simplicity of
this collage belies the time it took to put it together. Had a hard time finding the words for the
affirmation. Had a much easier time finding a zebra and elephant moving forward in life. Cutting simple shapes with
my non-dominant hand was interesting.
Think I’ll play around with that some more. I had time to repeat the affirmation over and over while I worked...Good preparation for my foot reflexology appointment tomorrow morning.
