Day 130 The Vacant Chair

Louise Hay affirmation:   “I am learning to choose to make today a pleasure to experience.”

Inspiration exercise from 365 Daily Creativity Journal:   Pick a piece of music you love (or hate) and use it as the inspiration for today’s piece.

Media:  Scrapbook paper, Magazine photo, Music paper from The Civil War Songbook, Watercolors,  Matte medium

Time:   1H

Comments:  The music I chose for this collage was from an old songbook I had called The Civil War Songbook.  Thought the title played well with an image of a classic, yet contemporary, lounge chair from a recent design magazine.

"Aged" the whole thing with watercolors to give the appearance of a Civil War era artifact.  Wonder how many people learned to choose to make today a pleasure in 1865 when this music was first composed and sung?  And when so many chairs sat vacant at home?
